Pohjois-Karjalan Jahtinaiset ry is a women´s hunting association operating in the region of North Karelia in Finland. We started as a registered association in the early summer of 2014. The joining is easy and annual fees are very reasonable and we warmly welcome all women and girls interested in hunting, outdooring and nature to become a part of our activities.

The main principle in our operations is to increase the appreciation and understanding of good hunting practices and culture especially through education. We organize comprehensive hunting and outdooring opportunities and training for our members.

As a fundraising campaign in autumn 2014 we made a women hunters’ wall calendar 2015. Photos in the calendar emphasized the experience of hunting, outdooring and nature from a woman´s point of view. The calendar was produced with the support of local companies. Funds raised from the sale of the calendar were directed for organizing activities of our association.

In early summer 2015 the first girls-only nature and hunting camp "Koppelo-leiri" was organized in Ilomantsi, North Karelia. Since then our association have organised educational camps for girls almos every year.

In August 2018 our association had an honour to host the fourth international Women and Sustainable Hunting -conference in Ilomantsi, Finland. More than 70 women and 20 accompanying person took part the conference weekend. For further information please see:  CIC Artemis
